He was born March 14, 1938 in Hugo, Oklahoma. He worked as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 35 years. He served for 10 years as President of the local Letter Carrier Union, for 2 years as Representative for State Letter Carrier District 3, and for 2 years as State Treasurer. Survivors include: Gay Grimes, wife of 41 years; daughters, Laura Flores (Santos)of Lubbock, and Jackie Lee of Moore, Oklahoma; son, Cary Grimes of Lubbock; brother, Thurman Locke (Barbara) of Houston; sisters Nancy Jones (Clifford) and Frankie Jo Grimes of Lubbock; 9 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
