Bettie Gatewood Obituary Bettie (Edler) Chamberlin-Gatewood, of Levelland, passed from this life Thursday, July 11, 2013 in Lubbock. She was born Tuesday, July 31, 1945 to Gerald and Ruby (Morgan) Edler in Crosbyton. Bettie was preceded in death by her father Gerald Edler. She is survived by her husband Captain "Cappy" Gatewood, sons Paul and John Chamberlin, mother Ruby Edler, sister Bonnie and husband Gerald Dockan, brother Lawrence Edler, 5 granddaughters, 2 grandsons and 3 great-grandsons. Bettie will be remembered as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and above all else a teacher. She believed that every child had a right to an education. She will be greatly missed by all of the lives that she has touched.
