Barbara Taylor Obituary Barbara Underwood Taylor, 74, of Lubbock passed away Sunday, April 27, 2014, after an extended illness. She was born in Paducah, KY on July 26, 1939. Barbara was a resident of Lubbock since 1955, where she graduated from Monterey High School and Texas Tech University. While at TTU, Barbara was actively involved in Pi Beta Phi and was a Tech Beauty. She was a longtime high school English and World Literature teacher in LISD, with stints in other states. While in Arizona, Barbara received her master's degree from Northern Arizona University, where she also taught before returning to Lubbock. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Mary Taylor. She is survived by her brother and his wife, Jim and Opal Underwood; three grandchildren, Ivy Combs, Jeremy Cone, and Karly Sargent; a niece, Holly Duncan and family; and a host of friends and former students. A graveside memorial service under the direction of Agape Funeral Chapel and Crematory will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 30 at Resthaven Memorial Park.
