Obituary

Barbara Draper Obituary Barbara Ann Draper, of Big Spring, Texas, passed away September 2, 2017 at the age of 77. Barbara was born to parents Marshal and Billie Lou Byerley on August 24, 1940. After attending Big Spring High School, she married her best friend, Jessie Draper in 1960. Barbara took great pride in her family and after her two children were out of high school she began her career as a Head Start pre-school teacher where she loved on children for 17 years. Her love for her family grew exponentially when she became a grandmother. She was just as dedicated to them as her own children and were actively involved in their lives. Of course the blessings continued when the Great-grandchildren entered this world. We will always remember her cooking us big meals from scratch and backing cookies and cherry pies. She loved to sing to us all when we were small and would read us countless stories, sometimes several times. Barbara is survived by her Soulmate, Jessie Draper; her son Jay Draper, her daughter Cheryl Draper, her eldest granddaughters Alicia Pointer and Tasha Oakley and four other grandchildren that were each a blessing to her life. These grandchildren blessed her again with ten great-grandchildren so far. A memorial service will be held at The Springs Fellowship, 6109 114th Street, Lubbock, Texas on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 11am. Services
