Annie Summersgill Obituary Annie Florine "TOOTIE" Summersgill, 92, of Hale Center passed away on June 23, 2012. She was born on August 17, 1919 in Sugden, Oklahoma to Thomas and Lenora Barbee and graduated from Hale Center High School. Her occupations included "Rosie the Riviter" welder in WW2, bartender, and waitress. She was affectionately called "Ma" by her grandchildren and was an accomplished cook. Annie was preceded in death by her parents, sister Flossie Kisselburg, and brothers Virgil "Red" and Billy Barbee. She is survived by her daughter Melody Novak and husband Matt of Roswell; three grandchildren, Ryan Blakley and wife Vicki, Kirby Blakley, and Trace Blakley of Lubbock; and ten great-grandchildren.
