Wanda Jane Conard

Wanda Jane Cook Conard of Melrose, NM passed away on January 3, 2019 in San Antonio, TX.  Mrs. Conard was born in Lovington, NM in 1936 and moved with her family back to their original homestead in Dimmitt, TX in 1939.  After marriage and attending college at Denver University, she returned to Dimmitt to raise her three children.

She was heavily involved in all sorts of activities in Dimmitt, Tx, Seguin, Tx, and Melrose, NM, the communities in which she lived and owned businesses.  

Mrs. Conard is preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur Cook and Myrtle Behrends, of Dimmitt; brothers Cliff Cook of Dimmitt and Robert Cook of Seguin; and husband Van Conard of Dimmitt. She is survived by her son Shannon Truelock (Alice)of Seguin; daughters A’Lann Truelock (Steve Rogers) and D’Anne (David) Thompson of San Antonio; and grandchildren Brandon Ellenberger, Colton Truelock, Rachel Thompson, and Caleb Thompson. 

There will be a family graveside service in Dimmitt on January 7^th, and a memorial service for friends and family also in Dimmitt later in the spring.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to any educational foundation or scholarship of choice.
